Details:
This event will be held on our most recently updated map—used last fall for our "A" meet. Once again Natalia Babeti
will be setting courses, so expect some well designed courses, just
like at the A-meet last year.
We will be offering the standard courses: white and yellow for
beginners, orange for intermediate, and red and green for advanced
orienteerers. This event will be a "long" event for red
and green—the advanced courses will be almost 50% longer than
normal.
ePunch will be available on orange, red, and green courses. (Traditional
paper punch can also be used if desired.) As is usual at CAOC local
meets, blue and brown courses will not be offered.
Driving Directions:
Take I-55 (Stevenson Expwy.) 13 miles southwest of the Loop. Exit
at LaGrange Road (aka US-45, Exit 279A), and go south 5.5 miles
to 107th St. Turn right and go west just over a half mile to parking
the entrance to the forest preserve. Turn right and look for the
orange and white orienteering signs to direct you to the registration
area.
Public Transportation:
Take Pace bus #381 from the 95th Street Terminal (in the middle
of the Dan Ryan Expressway) at the south end of the Red elevated
line at either 8:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. Stay on bus to end of line
at Moraine Valley Community College and walk west on 107th Street
to Country Lane Woods (1-1/2 mile, on north side of street). On
the return, ask someone in the parking lot to drop you at MVCC where
return buses depart every 30 minutes all afternoon.
