Meet Director's Area

A hot steamy August night in Wisconsin, just over the border as 20 plus people showed for the CAOC / Badger meet. This was a two course event where at 6:00pm a middle distance 5K course was offered followed after sunset by a fast night sprint 3.3K course. Lots of trails views of the lake were seen. The high prairie grass proved to be somewhat tough to motor through, but most made it in fine orienteering tradition. In actuality the grass was less difficult than the heather in Scotland. There were a lot of new faces with a few Badger Club members in attendance. The middle event went to The Finnisher also known as Jari Valikorpi and the night champ was our own Michael Collins.

A group camp out site was offered to persons wishing to stay overnight, shower and enjoy a fire, marshmallows and cold drinks.

Thanks goes to all who helped out at the meet especially Michael Collins and Jeff Porter who made my job as meet director and course setter much easier.
