Course Setter' Notes

IOF Middle Events - Saturday, Oct 20th

Busse Woods Map

Busse Woods has undergone new field work this summer--updated vegetation surveys and improved contours. These updates will be helpful given Busse's reputation for being as flat as a pancake. Count on good compass bearings, pacing, and reading map features for successful navigation. There are many seasonal wet areas, and unless there is a lot of rain soon, these areas will be completely dry.

The Courses
The courses may seem long in length, but winning times should be 30-35 minutes for Blue and Red and 25-30 for Green, Brown, Orange, Yellow, and White. The woods and visibility should be excellent making these times reachable.

There are no common controls with E-Punch courses (Blue,Red,Green,Brown,Orange) and the traditional paper punch courses (Yellow and White).
