REGISTRATION UPDATES:Pre-Registration will be open thru Saturday August 22nd at 5pm. If you register by 5pm, we will print a map for you. If you register after 5pm on Saturday, please call the registar (Michael) at 847-673-7283 to confirm if there will be a map available. There will be no paper registrations on-site -- if you register day of the event, you'll need to complete the forms on the website. Please pre-register if at all possible!

Join us on Sunday, August 23rd for a unique urban orienteering experience!

The start/finish and registration are at Ping Tom Park under the 18th street bridge. Enter the park at 19th St. and South Wells St. We will be under the bridge, north of the pagoda and playground.

We will use a map of downtown Chicago provided at registration. Upon registration, each participant will also be given an Answer Sheet that includes questions that can only be answered when they are at the control locations on the map. Bring a pen or pencil to fill out your answer sheet.

The format of the course is a Score-O where participants go to as many control locations as they have time to collect correct answers for during the time period of the race. Racers can select either a 1-hour (Short), 2-hour (Medium) or 4-hour (Long) time limit. Each correct answer collected will be scored as one point and each minute late in returning to the start/finish will subtract a point.

Racers may participate on foot or on a bicycle, and may ride public transportation (bus or train) or water taxis, but may not take any private motorized vehicle (car, taxi, etc.). Racers must follow all traffic laws and safety rules. Helmets are required for bikers.

Please wear a facemask when you are near other people, and maintain a 6-foot distance. The lakefront is open but you must keep moving and not stop or gather in groups.

Important: Please bring your own pen/pencil, facemask, water, and snacks. For your safety and ours at this time, we will not provide these. There may be a port-a-potty available at start/finish, but it is not guaranteed. There is a Mariano’s supermarket store four blocks away at Clark and 17th street where you can buy drinks/snacks and use the restroom.

Start/Finish at Ping Tom Park, Chinatown.
