REGISTRATION UPDATES:Pre-Registration
will be open thru Thursday October 14 at midnight. If you register by
midnight, we will print a map for you. After midnight on Thursday,
you'll need to register on-site. Please pre-register if at all possible!
We are pleased to announce that the Forge and Chicago Area Orienteering Club have "forged" together to host the first Orienteering Event on a brand new map.
October 17th from 10-12:00 is the starting time window for participation in the event.
Orienteering involves the use of a map that will have control locations marked to find. Using you map reading skills and use of a compass (provided) you will be able to Adventure your way throughout the park.
Expert instruction, if this is your first or 10 time will be provided anytime during the 10:00-1200 noon.
3 Different courses will be offered Short/beginner approximately 2-2.5 Kilometers long, Medium/Intermediate level 3-4 Kilometers long and Advanced/Expert of 5 kilometers long in length.
Maps and compass's will be provided. We will also be offering the latest in advanced technology using electronic scoring system provided. If one course is too easy, you would be more than welcome to try a 2nd course that day.
The start area will be around the stage area when you first enter the facility, look for the CAOC flags. Parking will be available at the regular Forge parking lots 1001 Main St Lemont, IL
There are concessions and restroom available at the park and also fun activities available after the event at the Adventure park!
