Volunteer Appreciation
Banquet
December 10, 2017

After the meet on December 10th, we will be hosting a banquet at Salsa Street in Palatine to thank all of the volunteers who have helped out this year. Everyone who volunteered for CAOC at a meet, Give-Back Day, or behind-the-scenes (e.g. permits, website, etc) in 2017 is invited! Please sign up online by December 3rd so we have an accurate count for the restaurant.

Regional Event
OINK Winter Pig
Northern Kentucky
December 1-3, 2017

OCIN is holding a three-day event from Dec 1-3. Check their OINK Winter Pig event page for details.

Volunteers Needed
No Experience Necessary

It takes a lot of volunteers to put on each orienteering meet, but it doesn't take a lot of time to be a volunteer. Volunteers are needed to help with registration, results, control pickup, etc. The typical time commitment is 1 to 1.5 hours. We'll show you everything you need to know to help out. Plus, you'll still have time to participate in the orienteering. All volunteers will be eligible for the end-of-year banquet, too!

Please check the 'volunteer' box on your registration form, and the meet director will be in contact with you.

Thanks!

About Orienteering

Everyone is welcome. No experience, no special clothes, and no competitive instinct are required. You do not have to run when orienteering—many experienced orienteers walk the course. But competitive running is also welcome. First-time orienteers are especially welcome—we will help you get started.

If you have questions about orienteering or need help finding the event location, e-mail the club secretary at secretary@chicago-orienteering.org.
